2020. What started out a great year quickly took a turn for us all. Many things however, were not that different. Why is that? The legal support industry, for as long as I can remember, has been a career that requires more than a typical 9-5 job. As a good paralegal friend of mine would often say, “We knew what we were signing up for when we took the job!”
She was referring to the long hours and weekends, often just prior to a two or three week trial. The requirements were such that taking calls, or maybe most important now, working remotely from home, wasn’t related to dealing with the fallout of Covid -19, just part of the job. Business’s that adopted remote access and cloud based solutions were already used to most of the work in place orders we are dealing with now. In reality, we were already used to “Work from Vacation” as well. I can literally log into a review database and add a user with my mobile device.
ProFile Discovery adopted and created Cloud based platforms years ago, mostly for reasons of security, scalability, and remote access across our different offices. Technology within the legal field has always been a fascination for us here at ProFile Discovery. Presenting everchanging challenges and requiring adaptation and the ability to adjust as the facts and challenges of the case present themselves. As fast as a new technology appears on the scene, another software is required to understand how to preserve and review the nuances to then present the information to requesting parties and the court.
